Lean IT is the extension of lean manufacturing and lean services principles to the development and management of information technology (IT) products and services. Lean IT applies equally to IT Service Management, Software Development Processes, Project Management processes or Operations practices.
The Lean IT Foundation is a certification intended for IT professionals seeking to validate their foundational knowledge of Lean IT.

The exam covers topics such as Lean Principles, Lean Tools (A3 Thinking, Scientific Method, PDCA, Kaizen, Kaikaku, 5S, Visual Workplace), Value (Value-Added Work), Value Stream, Value Stream Mapping, Waste, The Three Ms (Mura, Muri and Muda), Flow, Pull, and Just in Time.
